In short, it's a small tournament hosted in Huntsville, Alabama by one of H.A.A.W.G.S members Warboss. To quote the Warboss himself .... Quote from: Warboss The goal of this event is to be “The Best Small Tournament in the Country” and I think last year we accomplished that goal. And this year things are getting even better. Not only do we have every perk we had last year (limousine, hotel, playing 40K in a Jazz Bar, a Bartender who starts serving at 9:00 a.m.) but have also managed to line up several sponsors for even more “perks” for the participants who are coming in from out of town. And we are even providing a fantastic BBQ lunch! While registration for The Kalm Before the WAAAGH! 2009 is already filled up, you can check out their site if you'd like more information on the tournament, or just to look over last years tournament. There are tons of great pictures there for your viewing pleasure! The Kalm Before the WAAAGH!

It is with great joy that we announce that there will be a mighty collaboration of two stellar gaming clubs in the south to produce one titanic event of gladiatorial contests unseen in scale since ancient Rome once again in 2009! The Huntsville Alabama Area War Gaming Society, and the Central Arkansas Warhammer Society are collaborating to bring forth The Big WAAAGH! This event will consist of The Battle on Beale Warhammer Tournament, The Redneck Rampage 40K Tournament, a larger expanded miniature painting competition, plus other events - such as day long mega battles, a Blood Bowl Tournament, a Battlefleet Gothic Tournament, and Lord of the Rings. The fun won't stop there though! Building on the success of the Hillbilly Team Competition, the event will contain great club based competition for the best club motto, best club shirts, best club standard, and much more. So what are the details of this grand event? It'll take place in Memphis Tennessee, at the Cook Convention Center on July 17th - 19th, 2009! So rest assured, if you like shooting Heavy Bolters, smashing your foes with a Warhammer, escorting rings across the evil lands of Mordor, leveling battlefleets in space, stairing at pretty paintjobs, or just grinding your foes into the Blood Bowl pitch, then this will have something to stir your Warrior spirit!
